Winnetta was born August 28, 1913 in Grandbury, Hood County, Texas to Ben Wells Hasler and Belva Ion (Whitaker) Hasler and passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014 at the Sterling House in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Winnetta was raised in Altus, Oklahoma moved to the Trail Creek Area and graduated from the Taloga High School in 1931. She married Joe Slawson and they made their home in the Arapaho, Oklahoma area. Winnetta worked alongside her husband. In 1959 they moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma and began building duplexes to rent to university students. She managed the apartments for the family until she retired. Winnetta enjoyed reading, cooking, and her church family was a very important part of her life. Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ.

Winnetta is survived by a step-daughter; Marjorie Jo Hanson of Ogden, Utah and a granddaughter; Lucretia Sue Mella of Brighton, CO; niece Patsy Franke of Castle Rock, CO, niece Darla Teer of Granada, CA, and nephew Bill Teer of Yukon, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers William and Lloyd; one sister Emma Gene, and step-daughter Wanda Alexander.
