William was born September 4, 1957 and raised in Oklahoma City. He graduated High School in 1975 and attended Trade School for two years and later moved to Thomas Oklahoma in 2009 and started with W+W. He was a certified heat/air technician, fork lift operator, computer and electrical technician for company equipment. He was married June 11th, 2011 to Genett Nicholson. William served his church, family and community in any way that he could. He never met a stranger and never walked away from a challenge. One of his greatest joys was playing Santa Clause and never left a child without a small gift. William was always ready and willing to help anyone in need.

William is survived by his spouse Genett (Nicholson) Upton of Thomas Oklahoma, his two sons, Cheyenne Upton of Mustang, OK, and Dakota Upton of Tennessee; his daughter Emily Perkins of Mustang, OK; one step son, Timothy Crowl of Custer City; and three step daughters Kimberly and her husband Zach of Weatherford, Kristi and her husband T.C. Perkins of Thomas, OK and Janet Crowl and her fiance Rhett Merida of Weatherford, OK; and sister Pam and husband Pat Abbananto of Newalla, OK; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Emmett and sister, Lois.
