Obituary

William Leon Sellers was born November 24, 1937, east of Binger, Oklahoma to Foster Lee "Ted" and Elvis Ellen (Tinsley) Sellers and passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at home in Colony, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years, 6 months, and 27 days.

Leon was raised and attended school in Colony and graduated from Colony High School in 1956. On December 22, 1979, he married Peggy Joyce (Martin) Payne and they made their home in Colony, Oklahoma. Leon worked for the Rock Island Railroad for 24 years until it closed. He then owned and operated Sellers Heat and Air for 20 years and retired in 2000. Leon enjoyed traveling and cruising and spending time with family and friends. He restored two classic cars, a 1956 Ford hard top and a 1966 Mustang convertible. Leon enjoyed classic cars, karaoke to country classic music, and wood working in his shop.

Leon is survived by his wife of 38 years, Peggy Joyce Sellers of their home in Colony, Oklahoma; daughter, Tammy Boling, and husband Jack of El Reno, Oklahoma; three step-sons, Mark Payne and wife, Teresa of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Brent Payne and wife, Rhonda of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Jeffrey Payne and wife, Ann Marie of Wichita Falls, Texas; brother, Dick Sellers and wife, Judy of Shawnee, Oklahoma; sister, Georgia Sanders of El Reno, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren, Diane and Matt Wehmuller, Hunter Boling, Drew Boling, Murphy Boling, Logan Payne, Nicholas Payne, Tessa Payne, Chet Payne, Shay and Haley Payne, Joe Freeman, Lauren Webber, Tara and Robert Spraggins, Shalie and Daniel Kost, Jessica Payne, and Kyler Ritchie; twenty-five great-grandchildren; niece, Robin Sanders; two nephews, Richie Sellers and Dale Hespe; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Elvis Sellers; a sister, Pearlene Hespe; a son, Kendall Leon Sellers; and two nieces, Amy Sellers and Toni Rae Sanders.
