Obituary

William Charles "Chuck" White was born on February 6, 1944, in Elk City, Oklahoma to William Everett and Jewell (Mabra) White and passed away Friday, July 3, 2020, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, at the age of 76 years, 4 months and 27 days.

He and his brother, Ralph, grew up in Western Oklahoma and California. He graduated from Carter High School 1962.  Chuck joined the Navy in October, 1962 where he served his country for over 20 years completing multiple tours of duty, including Viet Nam. He retired from the Navy in 1983 as a Flight Engineer on P3 aircraft.

Chuck returned to Oklahoma, where he got his Associate's Degree from SWOSU and began working at 3M. In 2005 he was diagnosed with Glaucoma and retired. Due to health issues from Agent Orange, he applied for VA disability and after a 10-year battle was approved in May of 2020. He was able to enjoy the satisfaction that his battle was won for a little over a month before his passing.

Chuck and Linda married, on May 26, 1990 in Weatherford and lovingly took on raising Dawn and David. He had twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was devoted to attending their activities and teaching them about the military and history. He and Linda lived in Weatherford until 2017 when they moved to Hydro to be closer to family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Jewell White. Chuck is survived by his wife Linda White, of the home. Four daughters, Laurie White, Lani Mattucci and husband Joe, Leslie French, Dawn Sublett and husband Clifton; one son, David Lampkin and wife Kathy. Twelve grandchildren, Shelby Seurer and husband Doug, Ashly Province and husband Clint, Kortny Bray and husband Josh, Casady and Emily Sublett, Hunter, Brady and Lexi Lampkin, Emily and Greg French, Alexis and Andy Mattucci. Four great grandchildren, Gracie Bray, Knoxx and Kannon Seurer, and Axel Province. He is also survived by one brother, Ralph White and his wife Karen, two nieces, LaJeanna Hoyle and Jenny Guajardo, and great niece and nephew, Justin and Jenny Lyn Hoyle.

Chuck served many years on board of directors at the Heartland of America Museum. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the museum.
