Obituary

Willa Mae (Bailey) Switzer was born to George and May (Taylor) Bailey on January 24, 1932, in Leedey, Oklahoma and went to her heavenly home on Friday, August 15, 2025, in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Willa was raised in Leedey and graduated with the class of 1950. After graduation, she moved to Weatherford and worked at Kelley Jewelers for many years.  On May 14, 1950, she married Roy James "Chick" Switzer in Leedey, Oklahoma and they settled in Weatherford. Willa and Chick had two children, Kent and Drew, leading her to take a break from her job at Kelley Jewelers to focus on raising them. After her children were grown, she returned to Kelley Jewelers, where she worked for several more years.

Willa valued her social life and spending time with friends. She liked golfing, quilting in her free time and participating in bridge club. She enjoyed making quilts for all of her grandchildren. Willa had a great sense of humor and always told the truth, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She will be remembered for being a good friend and for her vibrant friendships.

She was a longtime member of the Federated Church.

Willa is survived by her son, Kent Switzer, and his wife, Tammy of Tesuque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Barrett Brown, Blair Penn, Breck Switzer, and Berkley Smith; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Drew Allen; one brother, W.D. Bailey; and sister-in-law, Joyce Bailey.
