Funeral: 10:00 AM Saturday, January 21st, 2017First Baptist Church

Funeral services for Wanda Jean (Sockwell) Hutchinson, 89 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017, 10:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church with Earl Stephenson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Cemetery in Hobart, Oklahoma under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Wanda was born May 19, 1927, in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma to Ernest and Anna (Stunkel) Sockwell and passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Wanda was raised and attended school in Lone Wolf and Mountain Park area and graduated from Mountain Park High School in 1945. On June 16, 1945, she married Jim Hutchinson and they made their home on the family farm in the Roosevelt area where they farmed for a number of years. Wanda taught piano and accordion for several years. She played the piano and organ in Snyder, Roosevelt, Hobart, and Weatherford churches. Wanda worked as finance secretary at the First Baptist Church in Hobart; Berrong Insurance; Wright Wradio station in Weatherford; and had the Hutch Antique and Used Furniture Store for 13 years. She was a volunteer at the Pioneer Center until her death. Wanda was an avid OU and Thunder basketball fan, and she enjoyed serving people, antiques, traveling with her Sunday school class, and spending time with her family and friends.

Wanda is survived by two sons, Steve Hutchinson of Overland Park, Kansas and Kerry Hutchinson and wife, Cheryl of Raton, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, Chris, Amy, Josh, James, Sean, Skyla, and Amanda; and six great-grandchildren, Adin, Dante, Lexie, Jonah, Emmery, and Zin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Ernestine; and one daughter, Penny.
