Wanda was born on March 31, 1933 in Davidson, OK to James and Ilda (Cunningham) East and died on February 18, 2022 at the Cordell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cordell having reached 88 years, 10 month and 17 days.

Wanda's family moved to Cordell, OK in 1935, where she was raised and attended school, graduating from Cordell High school in 1951. She married Loyd Avant on August 26, 1955 in Cordell. They lived in Cordell and she worked for the AT&T telephone company. She was transferred by AT&T to Dallas, TX in 1955. After retiring she and Loyd moved to Quitman, TX. Then they moved to Corn, OK in 2008. She enjoyed her dogs, animals, sewing, traveling, taking trips to the Holy Land, Italy, and other destinations. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Weatherford.

Wanda is survived by her brother, Jimmy Wayne East of Terrell, TX and sister, June East of Pacoima, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Judy Whitworth.
