Obituary

Farrell was born January 12, 1940, to Clarence and Edith (Bennett) Butcher. He passed away Friday, September 8, 2017, at his home in Weatherford. Farrell was born and raised in Elk City, Oklahoma, graduating from Elk City high school in 1959. The summer after graduation, he attended National Guard camp, followed by starting college at Southwestern State College in the fall. Farrell worked for the F.B.I. in Oklahoma City for 3 years after college. He then went on to sell real estate and insurance with American Fidelity in Elk City. In 1966, Farrell and his brothers, Larry and Carroll, ran a shoe business in Elk City and Clinton. Later, Farrell and his son Jim opened Butcher's mens wear, which was open from 1992-2007. Farrell enjoyed going to Las Vegas and boating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Farrell is survived by his wife, Sharon of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three sons, Jim Butcher of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Jon Butcher and wife, Jackie of Brunswick, Georgia, Gavin Butcher and wife, Lindsey of Edmond, Oklahoma; one daughter, Shana Brooks and husband, Mark of Lookeba, Oklahoma; two brothers, Charles Butcher of Edmond, Oklahoma, Don Butcher of Conroe, Texas; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carroll and Larry.
