Obituary

Funeral: 10:00 AM Saturday, May 28th, 2016Church of Christ

Funeral services for Vonda Lou McPhearson, 80 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ in Weatherford with Aaron Loney officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Vonda was born October 13, 1935, in Hydro, Oklahoma to Della (Weathers) Ruckman and Otis Ruckman and passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Weatherford Regional Hospital in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Vonda was raised in Hydro, Oklahoma and graduated from Hydro High School in 1953. She married Jimmie McPhearson on November 14, 1954 and they made their home in Weatherford, Oklahoma. In 1959, they moved to Taft, California where she and her husband worked together running a car dealership. All of their children were born while they lived in California. They returned back to Oklahoma in 1968. She worked alongside her husband for 28 years at McPhearson Honda Sales. They founded and ran the Agape Food Bank and conducted auctions and were real estate brokers. She spent many hours cataloging cemeteries which were very helpful to many people. She enjoyed genealogy, and being involved in her childrens and grandchildrens activities. She was a Custer County Fair Board member for 30 years. Memorials may be made to the Agape Food Bank.

Vonda is survived by two sons; Rodney McPhearson and wife Angela of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Ricky McPhearson and his wife, Tracee of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one daughter, Radonna Sawatzky and husband Terry of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother, Bob Ruckman and wife Deanna of Choctaw, Oklahoma; one sister Vivian McDougle of Weatherford, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Rachel Annie McPhearson, Michael Foster, Michelle Edwards, Karen Elizabeth McPhearson, Joseph Andrew McPhearson, Taler Janae Alexander and husband Cody and Tucker Ryan Sawatzky; four great-grandchildren, Amy, Nathan, and Stephanie Edwards and Brett Foster, many extended family members and longtime friend and neighbor Lynne Studier. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Cecil.
