Funeral services for Virginia Lee Moses, 91 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. in the Federated Church with Rick Connelly officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Virginia was born June 26, 1922, in Independence, Kansas to Walter and Beulah (Brothers) Renner and passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford. Virginia was raised and attended school in Independence, Kansas where she graduated from Independence High School and attended Independence Community College. On March 17, 1943, Virginia married her high school sweetheart Robert E. Moses, Jr. in Independence, Kansas. After WWII, Bob was discharged from the Army Air Force. While he pursued his teaching career, Virginia raised her growing family and used her musical talents to teach piano to adults and children. Bob taught school in Farmington, IA, Marysville, KS, and Hollis, OK. Bob and Virginia settled in Weatherford, OK in 1956. She raised her four children and fine-tuned her musical talents in the Federated Church choir and accompanied for many recitals and music contests. She played piano beautifully and loved to play and entertain her friends and staff at Corn Heritage Village. Virginia was an avid golfer with her husband Bob and her many golfing buddies. She made two Hole-in-Ones with the last one coming when she was in her late 80s. Virginia loved to watch her grandchildren in school activities and sports, OU football and OU womens basketball. Memorials may be made to the Federated Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.

Virginia is survived by two daughters, Cindy Griffith and husband, Tom of Edmond, Oklahoma and Kathleen Waites and husband, Jim of Weatherford, Oklahoma; two sons, Rob Moses and wife, Carol of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Steve Moses and wife, Laura of Edmond, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren and spouses, Mark and Angela Moses, Jeff and Krystal Moses, Cynthia and Jason McKay, Brett and Jill Moses, Marcia Moses and Keith Iwanabe, Kevin and Kim Moses,

Michael Waites, Matt and Suzanne Waites, Lori and Bryan Richards, Kristy and Mac McCune, Kelly Griffith, Lindsay and Michael Dawson, and Beverly and Joe Chaveriat; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Beulah Renner; husband, Bob on May 12, 1992; siblings, Walter Renner, Gladys Aldridge, Lotis Renner, and Norma Jean Johnson; and one granddaughter, Andrea Lynn Waites.

Virginia and her family appreciate the wonderful nurses and staff at Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford and Russell Murray Hospice.
