Obituary

Virginia (Kragh) Lander was born November 20, 1921, in Sherman Community, Oklahoma to Clifford Eugene and Leta Bessie (Smith) Kragh and passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in Brookdale of Weatherford, at the age of 96 years, 2 months, and 11 days.

Virginia was raised and attended school in Sherman Community, south of Waynoka, and graduated from Waynoka High School in 1939. She married Wayne Bouma and made their home in Amarillo, Texas. Later moved to south of Waynoka to raise her family and managed nursing homes in the area. Virginia married Roberts Lander and they made their home in Wakeeny, Kansas where she also managed nursing homes. After Roberts passed away she moved to Weatherford to be near family in 2005. Virginia enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, sewing and spending time with family and friends.

Virginia is survived by two daughters, Ayn Lamke and husband, Bud of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Diann Benson and husband, Rusty of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and one step-daughter Robin Salzberg-Greene and husband, Bill of Richmond, Virginia. One step-son in-law, Tom Krigas of Inverness, Illinois. Two sisters, Doris Curtis of Collierville, Tennessee and Donna Wit of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Michael Lamke, Rebecca Sas, Candace Villarruel, Jason Krigas, Steve Krigas, Lauren Kelleher, Lander Salzberg, Daniel Salzberg, Anna Salzberg and William C. Greene III; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roberts; one step-daughter Mary Krigas ; one brother, Koy Kragh; and two sisters, LoEva Morris and Jessie Newton.
