Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 24th, 2015St. Eugene Catholic Church

Mass of Christian Burial for Vincent Gerard Hogan, 76 year-old Weatherford resident, will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Eugene Catholic Church of Weatherford, Oklahoma with Father Christopher Tran officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Vincent Hogan was born November 19, 1939 in Elmira, New York to Edward and Olga (Baglin) Hogan, and passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at Weatherwood Assisted Living in Weatherford, Oklahoma after a lengthy illness. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School in Auburn, New York, and then he received a Bachelors degree in Education from the University of Dayton, Ohio in 1963. Vincent served in the Army for 20 years, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1983. During this period, Vincent earned a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri in Kansas City. In 1967, while serving in Germany, he met and married his loving and cherished wife, Dixie L. Berry of Miami, Arizona. He served in Korea, Germany, and Vietnam, as well as 9 different states. His last tour of duty was as the Professor of Military Science at SWOSU. He then worked for the 3M Company for 12 years. He was an active member of St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church, and a long time member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. His life revolved around his wife and family, as well as his church. Dixie was his heart and his best friend. Together they enjoyed a full and loving life, growing even closer in retirement. They were able to spend Vincents last months together under the care of the wonderful staff at Weatherwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society chapter nearest your home, or to the chapter at St. Eugene Catholic Church in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

He is survived by wife, Dixie; three children and 11 grandchildren: Edward and Catherine Hogan of Minneapolis and their children, Caroline, Alexandra, Margaret, and Sarah; Catherine and Todd DeVaughan of Weatherford and their children, Jackson, Kaleb, Nathan, and Emily; Julia and Ford Thompson of Austin and their children, Charlotte, Annabelle, and Ford Jr. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Olga Hogan; and two sisters, Eileen Hogan, and Kathleen Nemier and husband Stanley.
