Vesta Lorene Lawter was born December 25, 1938, in Weatherford to Leman and Luella (Kidd) Banner and went to be with her heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 in Weatherford, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 27 days.

Lorene was raised south of Weatherford on the family farm and attended school in Weatherford graduating with the Class of 1957.  On June 1, 1957, Lorene married Edgar Glen Lawter in Weatherford and made their home in Oklahoma City.  They returned to Weatherford in 1962 where she ran a daycare business for 20 years.  Lorene enjoyed her grandchildren, church activities and trips to Branson, Thunder basketball and Texas Rangers baseball.

Lorene is survived by two daughters, Barbara Adams of Weatherford and Carolyn Barron and husband, Sammy of Weatherford; one sister, Wanda Lamborn of Clinton; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Melvin Banner.
