Funeral services for Verla Mae (McClanahan) Barber of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Bro. Stephen Meyers officiating, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Verla was born to Leonard and Leola McClanahan on January 26, 1936 in Binger, Oklahoma and died on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at St Anthonys Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Verla was raised and attended school in Clinton, and graduated in 1955. She married and made her home in Oklahoma City, where she raised her family. Verla moved to Weatherford where she worked at 3-M Company for 17 years before returning to Oklahoma City. In 2011, she moved to Weatherford before returning to Oklahoma City where she was living at the time of her death. Verla enjoyed reading, going to Branson, Pioneer Center, her grandchildren and attending the First Baptist Church of Weatherford Church activities. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

She is survived by her one son, Buddy Barber of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one daughter, Gaylene King and her husband, Murray of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Justin Barber, Stefanie Barber, Megan Barber, Lauren, Barber and Cole Barber; 1 great-grandchild, Sklyler Barber; two brothers, Neal McClanahan of Missoula, Montana, Gene McClanahan of San Diego, California; and one sister, Shirley Parker of Weatherford, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Leola McClanahan.
