Memorial service for Veldean Jean Cook, 75 year-old Weatherford, OK resident will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Lamb officiating. Services are under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Veldean was born July 6, 1941 to Christian and Bertha (Mittelstaedt) Siegle in Dawson County, Montana and passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017, in Weatherford, OK after a brief battle with cancer. She was raised in Glendive, Montana and graduated from Dawson County High School with the Class of 1959. Veldean moved to Oklahoma in 1959 settling in Elk City, Oklahoma. She met and married Virgil on July 17, 1965 and they made their home in Lawton, Oklahoma for 3 years before moving to Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1972. Veldean worked at the Weatherford Hospital for 21 years as a Respiratory Therapist and Surgical Technician before retiring in 2003. She especially enjoyed her family. She loved holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, when her children would come home to visit. Celebrating birthdays was always very important to her. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting items for the family, riding her cruiser bicycle, and reading. She loved going to the dance with Virgil every Saturday night. She was baptized as an infant, confirmed in her faith in the Lutheran Church and remained a member her entire life.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Virgil Cook, of the home; four daughters and two sons; Michaeleen Lair of Tuttle, OK and her children, Matthew Massey, and wife, Christie, of Chickasha, OK, Keisha Mohr, and husband, Nick of Chickasha, OK and Daniel Lair of Tuttle, OK, Donnie Hunt and Lisa of Tuttle, OK and children Brian Morris and his wife, Trish of Alex, OK, Donnie Hunt and Janette of Tuttle, OK, Candice Hunt of Tuttle, OK and Christine Hunt of Tuttle, OK; Jeffery Hunt , of Tuttle, OK, his sons, Jeffery, and wife, Jill, of Amarillo, TX, and Kendal, and wife Leslie, of Amarillo, TX; Chrystal Overton, and husband Brad, of Cordell, OK, and their children Tyler Overton, of Anna, TX, and Cassi Overton, of Cordell, OK; Kathryn Daniel, and husband Michael, of Bixby, OK, and their children Breydon, Barret, and Brynn; and Susie Nickles, and husband Danny, of Jenks, OK, and their children Alyssa, Taylor, and Athan.

She had two sisters and two brothers; Loretta McPherson, of Glendive, MT, Shirley Boyce, of Glendive, MT, Orville Siegle, and wife Donna, of Glendive, MT, and Dale Siegle, of Livingston, MT. She had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, 17 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
