Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Trina Verjan, who passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, at the age of 70.

Trina was born on October 9, 1955, in Los Angeles, California. She lived a life filled with love, kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and community. She was known for her generous heart, compassionate spirit, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met.

A dedicated public servant, Trina devoted many years of her life to caring for others. She proudly served as an EMT with Cheyenne & Arapaho EMS, where she found her true calling in helping members of her tribal community during their times of need. Her commitment, leadership, and compassion eventually led her to become the Director of Cheyenne & Arapaho EMS. Even after stepping down from that role due to health challenges, her desire to serve never wavered. She continued caring for her community as a Triage Receptionist at Clinton Indian Health Services, where she greeted every patient with kindness and compassion.

Above all else, Trina cherished her family. She took great pride in being a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She found joy in making handmade blankets for her loved ones and creating beautiful beaded medallions for her grandchildren-gifts that will forever be treasured. Her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by family.

Trina also had a vibrant spirit and a love for life's simple pleasures. She loved music and, in her younger years, enjoyed going out dancing with friends and family. She often smiled as she reminisced about riding horses bareback along the beach as a teenager-memories she held close to her heart throughout her life.

Trina is lovingly remembered by her children, Armando Ochoa, Victor Ochoa, Angela Medina, Fabian Medina, Reynaldo "Jr." Medina, and Lorena Dominguez; her beloved grandchildren, Cappella, Anastazia, Andollina, Fabian, Adriana, Jose, Nico, Harland, Zillian, Amaya, Alina, Ariana, and Eben; her cherished great-granddaughter, Rosi; and her sisters, Christina Medina, Yvonne Verjan, Laura Verjan, Jesse Verjan, and Anna Chanvechsat.

She was preceded in death by Jesus Verjan, Lorena Hawk, Victor Verjan, Rosi Verjan, Victoria Osbourn, and Ella Dominguez.

Those who knew Trina will remember her for her compassion, resilience, infectious sense of humor, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. She had an incredible ability to make people feel cared for, whether they were family, friends, coworkers, or complete strangers. Her wisdom, strength, and gentle spirit touched countless lives and will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A wake will be held on Tuesday, July 7, at 7:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service on Wednesday, July 8, at 2:00 p.m., both at the Clinton ERC Building. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as they celebrate a life dedicated to love, service, and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, Trina requested potted plants in place of floral arrangements, reflecting her love of nurturing living things and her appreciation for nature's lasting beauty.

Although she is no longer with us in person, Trina's love, kindness, and legacy of service will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, family, and the many lives she touched throughout her years of caring for others.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
