Obituary

Timothy Scott Butterbaugh was born on December 22, 1961, in Corona, California, to John Butterbaugh and Hazel (Smith) Butterbaugh. He passed away on November 27, 2025, in Corn, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years.

Timothy was born in Corona, California, and spent his early childhood in Miraloma until the family moved to Oklahoma when he was nine years old. They settled in Colony, where Tim was raised and later graduated from Washita Heights High School with the class of 1980.

Tim met the love of his life, Phyllis Swihart, in 1996. Seventeen years later, in 2012, they married in Las Vegas.  Together they made their home in Colony, where they also operated a dog kennel, raising designer dogs.

Over the years, Tim worked in several industries, always known for his strong work ethic and reliability. He was employed with John Deere in Clinton, later worked for 3M, and eventually returned to John Deere. In 2001, he began a 20 plus year career at Farmer's Co-Op in Corn, where he worked as a grain supervisor.

Tim cherished time with his family and especially adored his grandchildren. Particularly the four who lived just across the street: Joanna, Jasmine, Jamie, and Jocelyn. Whether camping, fishing, or hunting, he loved being outdoors and enjoying good rock and roll.

Tim is survived by is wife of the home, Phyllis; his daughter, Shanna Prochaska and husband, Nick; sons, Kyle Butterbaugh and wife, Amber, and Joey Fitzgerald. He is also survived by two brothers, Craig Butterbaugh and wife, Rhonda, and Mike Butterbaugh; two sisters, Sheryl Veal and husband, Ed, and Jane Hogan and husband Tim. He was blessed with nine grandchildren who brought great joy to his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randy Butterbaugh.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma (DSACO).
