Thurman was born March 3, 1932 to Thurman Pete Sr. and Violet Stubbs and passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at home in Hydro Oklahoma having reached the age of age 88 years, 11 months, and 17 days.

Thurman was raised in Seiling, Oklahoma and graduated High School at Thomas Public School. Thurman was married to Liane Christensen on October 7, 1950 in Thomas at Liane's parents' home. They spent the next 3 years in Taloga then moved to Hydro in 1953. He farmed and raised cattle. Thurman was also a partner in stockman supply with his brother in law Jim Christensen. Thurman also served on the Hydro Public-School Board. Thurman enjoyed spending his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as playing cards, traveling and drinking coffee with his friends. He was active in the Hydro Masonic Lodge and was a member of the First Christian church for 67 years where he served as a Deacon and Elder and served as chairman of the Board. Thurman was survived by his wife Liane Stubbs, of the home; one son, Brent and wife Anita Stubbs of Hydro, ok; one daughter, Debby and husband Jerry Pyle of Weatherford, Ok; one brother, Bob and wife Beth Stubbs of Weatherford, Ok; as well as 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Thurman Pete Stubbs Sr. and Violet Stubbs.
