Funeral services for Shirley Ann McSperitt, 74 year-old Cement, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with David Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Shirley was born January 20, 1940 in Maysville, Oklahoma to Homer Willis and Birtha Mae (Baxter) Wells and passed away at home, surrounded by her family, in Cement, Oklahoma. Shirley was raised and attended school at Eloy, Arizona and Tipton, Oklahoma and graduated in 1957. At the age of 17 she met and married the love of her life, Harold Ray McSperitt on March 4, 1957, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. She worked alongside of her husband on the family farm where they raised their children. She was a devoted wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother. Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed her flowers, garden, sewing, quilting, crafts and writing stories.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years, Harold Ray McSperitt of their home in Cement, Oklahoma; their children: Vicky Lynn Mulkey of Watonga, Oklahoma, Marty Ray McSperitt of Cement, Oklahoma, Mark McSperitt and wife, Tammy of Port Tales, New Mexico, Monty Dean McSperitt of Weatherford, Oklahoma, and Keith McSperitt and wife, Valerie of Hinton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Troy Wells of Paoli, Oklahoma and Donnie Wells and wife, Gina of Fredrick, Oklahoma; four sisters, Merle Richardson and husband, Alvin of Lindsey, Oklahoma, Joyce Saintz of Maysville, Oklahoma, Mary Bellfield of Vernal, Utah, and Wanda Riggs of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; twenty-one grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Homer and Birtha; oldest daughter, Imagene Lesperance; and one sister, Dona Campbell.
