Obituary

Shirley Frymire, 88, of Abilene passed away August 2, 2026. She was born July 6, 1938 in Elizabethtown Pennsylvania, the daughter of Jacob and Fannie (Ginder) Heisey.

She spent most of her early adult years as a nurse in Africa with the Brethren in Christ Church Mission Board. On October 3, 1987, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Frymire. Most of their married life was spent in Abilene. He preceded her in death February 24, 2017.

Shirley is survived by: Stepson Ken (Geniece) Frymire, Springfield, Missouri. Step Grandchildren, Stephanie Kurtz, (Stan), Kevin (Rachel) Frymire, and Keith (Megan) Frymire all of Newton, Kansas, and numerous Step Great-Grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Marylin Byer (Eldon), Ontario, Canada, brother, Ray Heisey (Miriam) of Orrstown, Pennsylvania, brother, James Heisey (Gloria) Manheim, Pennsylvania, sister-in-law Nancy Heisey, Winchester, Virginia, sister-in-law Linda Heisey, Mt. Joy, Pennsylvania, brother-lin law John White of Oak Harbor, Washington, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Craig and Richard, and sister Carol.

An additional private family memorial will be held in Pennsylvania on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
