Obituary

Shirley Ann Ediger was born August 15, 1949, in Bentonville, Arkansas, to Benjamin and Ida (Jussel) Stiles and passed away June 17, 2025, at OU Medical in Oklahoma City at the age of 75 years.

In the early 1950s, Shirley's family relocated to Muskogee after her father accepted a position as a surveyor's assistant. She would go on to graduate from Muskogee High School in 1967. At the age of 21, Shirley went on a blind date with Daniel Ediger, whom she later married on March 19, 1971, at the Bethel Temple Pentecostal Church. Shirley and Daniel settled in Muskogee, where they would reside for the next decade. During this time, they welcomed their son, James, into their family through adoption. Shirley took on a role as a daycare worker, nurturing young children, before finding employment at Muskogee General hospital.

In 1981, Shirley and her husband relocated their small family to a farm south of Weatherford, where they raised their son.  She helped her husband with farm duties and preparing meals for the family, she also did volunteer work at Life Fellowship Church, where she remained an active member until her health began to deteriorate in 2010.

She will be remembered as a good Christian lady who loved the Lord.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Ida, two brothers, Rev. Boyd Arthur Stiles and Cecil Stiles, and one sister, Ruby Rakes.

She is survived by her husband of the home, Daniel, one son, James Ediger and wife, Sally, and one brother, Doyle Stiles.
