Shirley Lucille Cox was born August 6, 1937, in Weatherford, to Custer and Clara (Lay) Kisinger and passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, at Weatherford Regional Hospital, at the age of 87 years, 7 months, and 28 days.

Shirley was born and raised in Weatherford, graduating with the Class of 1955. She was a devoted Christian and was baptized at a young age.  In 1958, she married Bobby Caulkins, Sr. The first two years of their marriage, Bob was in the Army and stationed in Germany. Soon after their return, they welcomed their son, Bobby Caulkins Jr. in 1960, and they made their home in Weatherford.

On June 30, 1979, Shirley married Bill Cox in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where they made their home for 10 years. They moved to Mesa, Arizona for 10 years and in 1999, moved back to Weatherford. Bill passed away in 2008.

Shirley enjoyed her time reading, helping with the care of her family and mother, and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Weatherford.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Custer and Clara Kisinger; husband, Billie Cox; two brothers: Bud Kisinger and Clyde Kisinger; and two sisters: Goldie Koch and Wilma Chastain.

Shirley is survived by her son, Bobby Caulkins Jr., and wife, Connie; three grandchildren: Morgan Gossen and husband Reid, Dr. Clayton Caulkins, Jordan McCormick and husband, Mason; six great-grandchildren: Maverick, Vera, Farrah, and Faye Gossen, Mac and Miles McCormick; and one sister-in-law, Sue Hicks.
