Shawn Michael Cashman, 34, a resident of Weatherford since 2015, passed away Friday, April 15, 2022.  He was diagnosed with diabetes at age 16, and he was on dialysis for the past two years.  Shawn was the husband of Cherokee (Leonard) Cashman.

Shawn was born in Oklahoma City, February 23, 1988, he was the son of the late Margaret (Gordon) Novotny.  He graduated from Wichita High School West, in Wichita, Kansas, in 2006.  In 2007, Shawn graduated from Wichita Area Technical College.  He worked as a main banker at Casino Oklahoma in Hinton until he became disabled.

On July 6, 2017, Shawn married Cherokee at the Canadian County Judicial Building in El Reno, and they made their home in Weatherford.  He was Cherokee's best friend, heart, and soulmate.

Shawn enjoyed collecting Pokemon cards, Transformers, and Power Ranger figurines.  He loved spending time with his nephew, Hayden, and his niece, Emmalyn.  He also loved history and he watched anime, specifically, "Dragon Ball Z" and "Naruto".  He was a big fan of Star Wars, Star Trek, Batman and Joker.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his aunt and uncle, Patricia and A.G. Howell, his sisters, Stacia Williams Garcia and Shannon Hardy, and his niece, Gabrielle Williams.  He was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents, Willie and Virgil Gordon, and his uncle, Ernest Cashman.

A memorial service will be planned at a later date for family.
