Funeral: 10:30 AM Friday, July 3rd, 2015First United Methodist Church

Funeral services for Sharon Kay Segress, 74 year-old McKinney, Texas resident, longtime former Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, July 3, 2015, 10:30 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Brack officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan, Oklahoma under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Segress was born December 19, 1940, in Duncan, Oklahoma to Kenneth Eugene Gene and Oressia (Drolte) Shaklee and passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at her residence, Stonefield Assisted Living and Memory Care in McKinney, Texas. After graduating from Duncan High School in 1959, she attended Oklahoma City University where she met Terry Dickerson Segress. They were married in Duncan, Oklahoma on July 29, 1961. They lived in Eric, Oklahoma for four years before moving to Weatherford, Oklahoma where she was a homemaker and beloved piano teacher. In 1967, she completed her degree in Education and in 1974 she completed her master's degree in Education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She taught special education for 28 years with the Weatherford Public Schools. On May 8, 2003, she married longtime family friend, Howard L. Raskin. They lived together in Hobart, Oklahoma for four years. Following her stroke on February 29, 2008, she moved to McKinney, Texas in 2010 to be near her daughter. She was a spiritual, faithful woman who loved music, her students, traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Mrs. Segress is survived by daughter, Sheri Lynn Shulenberger and husband, Bill Shulenberger of McKinney, Texas; son, Stan Lee Segress and wife, Christy (Maize) Segress of Harrisburg, Missouri; and one granddaughter, Tori Lynn Whitfield of McKenney, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.
