Sandra Christeen Wright was born December 26, 1935 to Bill Wilson and Ernesteen Price. She passed away April 11, 2025, at the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 14 days.

Sandra lived in Merritt with her grandparents, mama and daddy Price, and her parents, Ernesteen and Willard Goodnow. She graduated from Merrit High School, Class of 1954. When she was a young child, she picked cotton with her sister on the family farm. Her mother was a school teacher for 54 years; her father worked maintenance at Hinton High School and was also a carpenter. After high school, Sandra attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where she majored in Elementary Education. She was a proud member of Delta Zeta while in college. In 1956, she married Aubrey Dean Wright. They made their home north of Weatherford, before relocating to the farm south of I-40, where they raised their family. They had four children: Kenton, Kevin, Kerry, and Kristy. In 1957, she graduated with her Bachelor's degree. She graduated from SWOSU with her Master's degree in Elementary Education in 1976.

She shared her mother's passion for teaching. Many different schools were blessed by her unique style of teaching. She taught at Hinton for five years, then taught at Weatherford for the next 20 years. Later on, she taught in Moore, retiring at Winding Creek Elementary in 2000.

She will be remembered and loved for the many things she did for the children who came through her classrooms. Sandra was a woman who was set in her ways and who was always guided by her strong faith. Her giving, caring, loving heart was felt by all who knew her!

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, (Bill Wilson) and Ernesteen and Willard Goodnow.  Husband: Dean Wright. Sons: Kevin and Kerry Wright; and one brother: Darrel Wilson.

Sandra is survived by her only daughter, Kristy Wright-Nott and husband, Peter. Grandchildren: Graham, Iris, Ethan, Forrest, Ryan, and wife Leah, and Parker Nott. One son, Kenton Wright and wife Mary. Grandchildren: Chris Wright Henson and wife Misti, Melanie Wright Henson, Valynn Wright Davis and husband Jeff. Sandra's great-grandchildren: Raylin Wright, Jentry and Liberty Davis. Her siblings: Willene Walker, sister-in-law Joi Wilson, Warren Wilson and wife Delores; Brenda Thomason and husband Brian.

In remembrance of Sandra Wright's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the American Association for Cancer Research or the American Diabetes Association.
