Funeral service for Lourene Sauer, 85 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Crosspointe Church (formerly Zion Church) with Pastor Ron Thiessen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Ruth Lourene was the seventh of twelve children born to Walter W. and Mattie B. (Richey) Crabb on July 6, 1931 and passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Lourene attended Greenfield Public School, and graduated Geary High with the Class of 1949. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State College, School of Pharmacy. She moved to Oklahoma City and worked for Wheeler and Stuckey Drug. Lourene married Walter Sauer on January 7, 1959, and they made their home in Weatherford where she was a full-time homemaker and provided child care while raising their family. She later worked for Weatherford Public Schools, and retired as cafeteria manager at West Elementary. She always enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, hired help, and harvest crews.

Lourene is survived by one son, Jeff and Christy Sauer of Weatherford; one daughter, Lisa Sauer of Stillwater; two grandchildren, Cortney and Cody Bell, and Jason and Marcia Sauer; and three great-grandsons Cooper and Camden Bell, and William Sauer who brought great joy to her life. Also surviving are two sisters Hazel Gosnell and Sue Griffin, and sister-in-law Gwen Crabb; along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Walter; three brothers; and six sisters.
