Ruth Ann (Fansler) Dysart of Weatherford, beloved wife and mother, went home to be with the Lord on September 5, 2014. Ruth Ann was born on August 16, 1945, on a farm located five miles east of Fay in Blaine County. She was eagerly welcomed by her family where she assumed the role of youngest child and baby sister. Her parents were Ralph Kibbee Fansler and Alma Ruth (Spain) Fansler, a farmer and a school teacher. She started school at Mt. Pleasant, a country school. After a few years, she transferred to the Watonga school system, where she graduated in 1963. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) for one year and transferred to Oklahoma State University where she graduated in 1967 with a degree in home economics. With the aid of a dart, a map, and good luck she found a position in Haskell, Texas as a Home Demonstration Agent. After three years, she then went to a job in Tulsa County where she produced some innovative and productive 4-H Club programs and also appeared on some Voice of America programs. In 1976, she moved back to Weatherford to care for her parents, who were in poor health. She also established her own businessa clothing shop called Second Hand Roseand attended SWOSU where she obtained a Masters in Education. On February 22, 1976, she joined the Church of the First Born near Fay. Faith played a primary role in her life, especially after her baptism. She later worked at her youngest brothers restaurant, the Lost Dutchmans Mine, where she met her future husband, William Mitchell Dysart, Jr. They married on January 15, 1983. As a wife and mother she loved unconditionally and was very active in her families lives. She was a natural conversationalist and had a unique personality making every day conversation a joyful adventure. She used her fantastic cooking skills to transition into an enthusiastic participant in chili cook-offs traveling to numerous states to compete. She will be remembered for the many gatherings she organized for family and friends. She was a gracious and lively hostess.
She is survived by her beloved husband Bill, her son Cass Mitchell Dysart and his fiance Burcu Degirmen of Norman, her daughter Sarah Ruth (Dysart) Highsaw and her husband Robert S. Highsaw of Oklahoma City, her stepson Colby Dysart of Dallas, her brother Kevin Spain Fansler and his wife Sherry (Hall) Fansler of Havre de Grace, MD, and her brother Dr. Arlyn Ralph Fansler and his wife Linda (Alison) Fansler of Weatherford. She is also survived by numerous in-laws, cousins, nephews, and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Carolyn Jeanette Parvin, and her brother-in-law Leonard Duane Parvin. Ruth Ann was truly a vibrant light in this world and will be greatly missed.
