Funeral services for Ruth M. Daniel, 86 year-old Hydro, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church with Rick Dyson officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Ruth was born September 1, 1926 in Colony, Oklahoma to Louie Albert and Caroline Rose (Baumann) Cone and passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Weatherford Living Center in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Ruth was raised in Hydro, Oklahoma and attended school at Hopewell Rural School and graduated from Hydro High School in 1945. On March 8, 1946, she married Roy Buis Daniel in El Reno, Oklahoma and made their home north of Hydro. Ruth received her License Practical Nursing degree from Clinton Regional Hospital. She worked for 30 years as a LPN at Maple Lawn Manor and Corn Heritage Village before retiring in 1993 and moved to Weatherford to be near family. Ruth enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren, playing scrabble, cooking, her church activites, letter writing, and writing in her journal. Memorials may be made to the Gideon Bibles or to the Youth Group at the First Christian Church in Hydro.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Steve Daniel and Reid Daniel both of Hydro, Oklahoma; two daughters, Cheryl Vogt and husband, Richard and Lisa Huber and husband, Mark all of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one brother, Robert Cone of Quincy, Illinois; one sister, Katie Daniel of Olive Hurst, California; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Howard, Elmer, Dallas, and Herb; one sister, Ruby; one son, Michael Daniel; and one granddaughter, Nicole.
