Funeral services for Ruth Nadine (Horn) Boyette, 98 year-old Carnegie, Oklahoma resident, will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Dennis King officiating. Burial will follow in Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.

Ruth was born August 27, 1915 on a farm northeast of Carnegie, Oklahoma to William Lewis and Ollie (Teal) Horn and passed away Monday, November 25, 2013 at Weatherwood Living Center in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She attended rural Caddo Star Rural School during the grade school years, and at the age of 12 her family moved to a farm northeast of Hydro, where she attended Hydro Schools. Ruth married Spalding Boyette on August 28, 1933 and made their home on a farm east of Alfalfa, Oklahoma where she lived until 2009. She worked the farm with her husband raising wheat and row crops. She was very proud to receive her Oklahoma Centennial Farm confirmation from the State in 2001. She cared for her husbands parents at home for 16 years after marriage. Ruth was a very talented lady with a needle and thread and could sew anything without the need for a pattern. Ruth loved to cook and entertain for family and friends at their home. Later in life she enjoyed caring for her yard where she had flowers that would bloom continually from spring until fall. Ruth was excited when her yard was featured on an OSU gardening segment that was aired on OETA in 2004. She also enjoyed being a member of the Carnegie Quilting Club, collecting collectable dolls, and making doll clothes. Ruth found most joy in spending time with her loved ones. She was a member and attended the First Christian Church of Carnegie. Ruth was a resident of Weatherwood Assisted Living since moving from her farm. Memorials can be made to the Alfalfa Fire Department

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Spalding Boyette on September 28, 1986; her parents, Lewis and Ollie Horn; one brother, Ray Horn; and three sisters, Bernice Calhoun, Letha Rowland, and Opal Majors. She is survived by a host of family and friends.
