Graveside services for Ruby June McFarland, 92 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017, 10:00 A.M. at El Reno Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford, Oklahoma.

June was born June 8, 1925 in Arjay, Kentucky to Hugh and Pearl (Spurlock) McFarland and passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford. June was raised and attended school in Arjay, Kentucky and graduated from Bell County High School. She worked as a riveter on the B-24 bombers in Detroit from 1942 to 1945 before returning to Kentucky. June attended Southwestern State College in Weatherford. She worked at Pucketts Grocery Store and the utility gas company in Sayre, Oklahoma. She moved to Oklahoma City and worked at the Baptist Childrens Home and later the Spring Meadows Childrens Home in Louisville, Kentucky. June enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, making clothing and reading to the kids. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.

June is survived by her sister, Georgia McTaggart of Weatherford, Oklahoma; nieces, Dianne Brunner, Melinda Reuter, and Kimberly Carmichael; six great nieces and nephews; and eleven great-grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Hugh, Lee and Jack McFarland; and one sister, Jean Carmichael.
