Funeral services for Ruby Nell John, 69 year-old Hydro, Oklahoma resident, will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Hydro, Oklahoma with Rev. Brandon Blacksten officiating. Burial will follow in Hydro Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Ruby was born December 10, 1945 in Stuart, Oklahoma to Raymond Ray and Bonnie Beatrice (Russell) Lanham and passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro, Oklahoma. She was raised and attended school in Stuart. Ruby was baptized in Bohannon on August 2, 1959.Her family moved to Hydro in 1966, where she graduated from Hydro High School in 1968. She married Kenneth Dale John on April 12, 1968, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. They made their home in Hydro, Oklahoma, where they raised their two children, Kevin Dale and Kerie Renee. She worked for Big Yanks, Weatherford Living Center, and Maple Lawn Manor as a cook, where she worked for over 25 years. Everyone loved her and she really loved her job. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, and cooking for family and friends. She made her life around her kids and grandkids and was a wonderful lady.

Ruby is survived by her husband, Kenneth Dale John of Hydro, Oklahoma; one son, Kevin and Pam John of Hydro, Oklahoma; one daughter, Kerie Fry of Hydro, Oklahoma; two sisters, Barbara Lee of McAlister, Oklahoma and Bonnie Wheeler of Shawnee, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William Everett Lanham; and one sister, Mary Holland.
