Funeral services for Leon Mosburg, 80 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church with Daniel Mosburg, James Rainwater and Earl Stephenson officiating. Services are under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Leon was born August 11, 1935, northwest of Weatherford, Oklahoma to John Mosburg and Mary (Bates) Mosburg and passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 in his home. Leon was raised northwest of Weatherford and attended Custer City schools, graduating in 1953. After high school, he earned an Associate Degree from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma. Leon married Joy Carolyn Renison on December 22, 1955 and they made their home northwest of Weatherford. He worked in the construction business with Cotton Leonard and was a farmer for most of his life until 1995 when he retired. Leon enjoyed traveling, fishing, and Lake City, Colorado. Memorials may be made to Friends for Life Animal Shelter. The family would like to thank Shepherd Hospice and Home Health Care, and personal caregivers for their care and attention to their father.
Leon is survived by two daughters, Lita Giblet and husband, Brad of Hydro, Oklahoma and Jackie Dickerson and husband, Dale of Colony, Oklahoma; three sons, Darrell Mosburg and wife, Debbie of Custer City, Oklahoma, Don Mosburg of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Kelly Mosburg and wife, Kim of Edmond, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Billy Renison and wife, Marlene of Clinton, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Marvella; eighteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Mosburg; wife, Joy Mosburg; two brothers, Raymond Mosburg and John Earl Mosburg; five sisters, Zelma Jean Mosburg, Alma (Paul) Resler, Olive (Art) Suderman, Alta (Marvin) Porter, and Opal (Ed) Cornelsen; and two sisters-in-law, Pat Mosburg Gorman and Georgeina Renison.
