Robert Dwayne Runnels, also known as "Rusty" and "Hippie", was born July 10, 1957, in Lawton, to Robert Franklin and Mary Ann (Petty) Runnels and passed away Monday, November 11, 2024, at home surrounded by his family having reached the age of 67 years, 4 months, and 1 day.
Robert was raised and attended school in Hydro, graduating with the Class of 1975. Out of high school he drove a truck, hauling oilfield equipment and cattle. On September 11, 1985, Rusty married Tina J. Henslee in Hydro and later moved to Thomas to raise their family. It didn't matter what Rusty was doing, whether it was riding his motorcycle or what, he always had a great time doing it. He will be remembered for loving his grandchildren and spending time with family and friends.
Rusty is survived by his daughter, Misty Hall and husband, Samuel of Arapaho; girlfriend, Wendy Rogers; brother, Dusty Runnels and wife, Rhonda of Enid; half-brother, David Runnels and wife, Susan of Federalsburg, MD; half-sister, Sharon Dulin and husband, Donnie of Seaford, DE; sister-in-law, Stacy Blanford and husband, Ron of Weatherford; two grandchildren, Jessie and Aiden Hall; two great-grandchildren, Dallas Reeves and Neveah Lawshea, Nikki Swaney and husband, Joe, Danielle Goodall and husband Heath, Gordon Perry and wife, Jordan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brother, Billy Don Runnels; and a half-sister, Myrtle Duke.
