Obituary

Robert "Bob" Maynard Barton, Jr. was born in Riverside, California on July 12, 1956, to Mildred Ruth (LaCoss) and Robert Maynard Barton, Sr. He passed away at his home in Weatherford, Oklahoma on Monday, October19, 2026, at the age of 70.

Bob was raised with his 3 siblings in a military family who was relocated on several occasions throughout his father's military career. The family moved back to the states from Germany when Bob was 4 years old, where he had to re-learn English.

Bob went on to graduate from Escalon High School in Escalon, California, then on to take 2 years of college at San Joaquin Delta College. He eventually joined the US Air Force where he was stationed at Charlston AF Base in South Carolina, serving in various countries in Vietnam in vehicle and air craft maintenance.

After an honorable discharge from the Air Force, Bob returned to California and eventually to Eufaula, Oklahoma. There he met Sharen Jennings in 1998 and would later marry on July 28, 2003, in Wheeler, Texas and would spend a total of 30 years together.

Bob and Sharen moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma in 2001. While here he worked at Atwoods, Jerry's Restaurant, Covia Sand Plant and finally at Braums.

Bob had a genuine lifelong love of old vehicles and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He enjoyed football, fishing, carpentry, and building and mechanical work on vehicles. He had a reputation that there was nothing he couldn't build or repair, but his greatest love was spending time with his family, children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Mildred Barton and Robert Barton Sr.; sister, Mattie Hoover; brother, David Wooldridge; and brother-in-law, James Reed.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sharen; daughter, Felicia; son, Robert Barton III; son, Justin Jennings and wife, Courtney; daughter, Katrina Barela and husband, Johnny Bearshears; son, Larry "Bo" Travis Kitchens and wife, Chrystal; son, William Jesse Barton and wife, Jessica; daughter, Ashley Ann; son, Jesse Lee Jennings and wife, Micah Tove` Jennings; and daughter, Jessica Lynn Barton; one brother, James Barton and wife, Rose Mary; sisters, Ruth Ann Reed; Emelia Wright, Oletha Winters; and brother, Dennis Wooldridge. Bob aka "PaPa" was survived by his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and family whom he dearly loved.

A funeral service for Bob will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, October, 26th, 2026, at New Life Church, 4200 Carriage Way, Weatherford, OK, with Mark Lumpkin officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Memorial donations can be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund at vvmf.org or 1530 Wilson Blvd, Suite 550, Arlington, VA 22209.
