Rita Kay Patterson was born March 28, 1946, in Weatherford to Henry and Alvina Bozarth and passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Cedar Crest Manor in Lawton, at the age of 76 years, 5 months and 24 days.

Rita was raised and attended school north of Weatherford, graduating with the Class of 1964.  She attended school at Southwestern State College for two years.  On May 6, 1967, Rita married Ronald Patterson in Weatherford where they made their home.  In 1969, they moved to Oklahoma City and in 1975 they moved to El Paso, TX.  Rita worked as a proof reader for Taylor Publishing.  They settled in Lawton in 2013.  Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church of Lawton.

Rita is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ron of their home in Lawton; one son, Bobby Patterson of Lawton; two daughters, Christi Shepard and husband, James and Michelle Patterson all of Douglasville, Georgia; one sister, Wanda Kiesel and husband, Melvin of El Paso, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Don.
