Richard C. Daniel was born May 1, 1950, to John and Opal (Elam) Daniel in Beaver County, OK and passed away Friday, July 10, 2020, at his home in Weatherford, at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 9 days.

RC was raised and attended school in Laverne, OK, graduating from Laverne High School with the Class of 1968. He attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and during this time worked his way through college, farming and ranching. On February 27, 1969, he married Martha Jean Glass in Mooreland; and they made their home in Weatherford. RC was destined to helping those he could. He became a full-time firefighter with the Weatherford Fire Department in 1977, and he also worked as a volunteer police officer. Later, RC began working in construction for several local contractors. This adventure eventually led to him starting his own electrical business, Daniel Electric. In November of 1984, he began his career in Law Enforcement by joining the Custer County Sheriff's Department. During this time, he began working narcotics, and in 1991 he joined the District Attorney's Office as an investigator. It was at this time he started the District 2 Drug Task Force. In his career he helped confiscate over 28,000 pounds of marijuana; 2,000 pounds of cocaine, and 400 pounds of methamphetamine. He helped identify over 3,500 criminals and convict nearly 2,000 offenders. He retired from the Task Force in 2009 due to Parkinson's. R.C. loved spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandkids and cheering them on in baseball, football, softball, and basketball.

R.C. is survived by his wife Martha Daniel of the home; two sons, Michael Daniel and wife, Kathryn of Bixby and Kenneth Daniel and wife, Jennifer of Weatherford; one brother, Wayne Daniel and his wife, Jan Kellye of Laverne; one sister, Hortense Starbuck of Elk City; and six grandchildren, Breydon, Barrett, and Brynn Daniel of Bixby, OK; Kase, Katen, and Kollinz Daniel of Weatherford; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janice.
