Funeral: 10:00 AM Saturday, July 30th, 2016"The Chapel" of Lockstone Funeral Home

Funeral services for Raymond Ray Lee Miller, 83 year-old Corn, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016, 10:00 A.M. in The Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Rev. Truman Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Poage Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Ray was born April 1, 1933, in Bessie, Oklahoma, to Otto and Anna (Foote) Miller and passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at his home in Corn, Oklahoma. Ray was raised in the Bessie and Cordell area and attended Cordell Public Schools where he graduated from Cordell High School in 1951. He served his country in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and served in the Armed Force Reserve until 1961. On September 2, 1956, he married Herwanna Ann Janzen and to this union two daughters were born, Rita and Rhonda. Ray earned his bachelor degree from the Southwestern State College in Weatherford. He farmed in the Bessie and Cordell area and also raised quarter horses. Ray enjoyed reading the Bible, writing letters, spending time with family, loved to help people in need, and was a charitable person.

Ray is survived by a daughter, Rita Socall and husband, Dean of Bradley, Oklahoma; three brothers, Alfred Miller and wife, Jean of Cordell, Oklahoma, Herb Miller and wife, Wilma Jean of Corn, Oklahoma, and Loyd Miller of Cordell, Oklahoma; a sister, Esther Howard of Cordell, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Crystal Patterson of Whitesboro, Texas, Dallas Socall of Bradley, Oklahoma, and Dean Chase Socall of Bradley, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren; and Herwanna Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rhonda Smith; and brother, Walter Miller.
