Graveside services for Raymond Eli Goucher, 84 year-old Edmond, Oklahoma resident, will be held Friday, March 14, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Hydro Masonic Cemetery with Brandon Mata officiating, under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.
Ray was born September 20, 1929 in Bridgeport, Oklahoma to Vergil Raymond and Mildred Mable (Trumbley) Goucher and passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Integris Hospice House in Edmond, Oklahoma. Ray was raised and attended school in Hydro, Oklahoma where he graduated from Hydro High School in 1948. Ray attended Southwestern State College until 1951 when he enlisted into the Air Force. On January 21, 1952, he married Jo Nell Boschert in Anchorage, Alaska. They moved to Oklahoma City after he was discharged from the military in 1955 where he worked in management for Sears and Kerr McGee Oil Company. They opened an auto parts store in the early 60s. At the age of 45, Ray began rebuilding starters, alternators, and generators. He enjoyed fishing, gambling and watching John Wayne western movies. Ray was a hard worker, self employed businessman; and enjoyed his land outside Edmond.
Ray is survived by one son, David Goucher and wife, Peggy of Edmond, Oklahoma; one daughter, Jeannie Goucher; two brothers, Charles Goucher and wife, Pat and Allen Goucher and wife, Caroline all of Weatherford, four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
