Obituary

Randy Nease was born to Leo and Marjorie (Jones) Nease on October 30, 1954 in Lawton, OK and passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018, at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 64 years, 1 month, and 27 days.

Randy graduated from Central High School in Marlow, OK. Randy played basketball and graduated from Murray State Junior College and received his bachelors and master's degrees in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

He spent his teaching career at Thomas Schools. He wore many hats during his time there, most notably: teacher, coach and bus driver. In the classroom he taught junior high and high school science. In athletics he coached junior high and high school basketball, softball and track. He was proud to be a part of a number of championship teams and often bragged about the success of his players on and off the court.

During the early years of his teaching career, he spent his summers working in local John Deere dealerships. As years passed, he began helping Eddie Lee with his farming operation. When he retired from teaching he worked for Eddie full-time. He found fulfillment in his time on the farm and in his relationship with Eddie.

Randy was active in the Thomas First United Methodist Church. He served on numerous committees, taught Sunday school and when his boys were young, led Hiking with Jesus. He enjoyed taking this youth group on hiking excursions throughout the area.

When he wasn't working he enjoyed tinkering in the garage, visiting with family, friends, old students/players and telling stories – which tended to get bigger and better each time. He loved being with his grandkids and taking them on all kind of adventures.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Nease and one son, Chacey Nease. He is survived by his mother, Marjorie Nease; two brothers, David Nease and Gary Nease; and four children Chanda, Chay, Chaipen and Chezden and their children. In Randy's honor, donations can be made to Thomas Athletics P.O. Box 190, Thomas, OK 73669.
