Obituary

Randy Joe Ashley was born on November 2, 1964, in Chickasha, Oklahoma and passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. He was the son of Max Ashley. Randy was raised near Fort Cobb Lake and attended school in Oney, graduating with the Class of 1982, and also attended Caddo-Kiowa Technology Center where he completed his auto body certification. Upon graduation from high school, Randy enlisted in the US Army and served 4 years as a combat engineer stationed at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. After serving in the military he moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma to be near his father, who introduced him to Peggy Ann. On September 4, 1988, Randy married Peggy in Wichita Fall, Texas.

Randy always dreamed of becoming a truck driver, and he got his CDL and began driving semi-trucks all across the country. His CB radio handle was "Jiggy". He loved driving truck and Peterbilt was his favorite type of truck. He also drove truck for Dieselworks, A Rental, Whitco, and doing long haul trucking in the oil field. When he wasn't on the road, Randy enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting with his son. Randy was family oriented and adored his children and grandchildren, spoiling his grandchildren as much as he could. His daughter was a Daddy's Girl. He also loved his future son-in-law and daughter-in-law as if they were his own. Randy also knew how to fix anything. He always had duct tape and zip ties on hand in a pinch.

Randy was a huge football fan and a diehard OU fan. He also enjoyed professional wrestling. He always knew how to have a good time and make the most of everything. He was an animal lover, and the household always had a dog in it. All of the dogs were spoiled by him like no other--as if they were children with special treats and belly rubs 24/7. He even tried getting a pet snake but Peggy said "No". You would never catch Randy not wearing a camouflage hat or shirt or a shirt with the sleeves cut off. He also loved trying his luck at casinos every now and then.

Randy was loved by so many people. He was the best husband, dad, and papa. You could always have a good conversation with Randy and ask him for his opinion, whether you liked his answer or not.  He will be missed beyond measure.

Randy is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Hailey Yandell.

Randy is survived by wife, Peggy Ashley of their home in Weatherford; by his daughter Lacey Ashley and fiancé, Curtis Brooks of Roff; one son, Jacky Yandell and wife, Joni of Summerfield; seven grandchildren, Carson, Greyson, Tori, Michael, Carley, Gunner and Gracelynn; and his father, Max Ashley of Davis.
