Graveside services for Patty Joe Pat Corning, 83 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016, 2:00 P.M. at Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Earl Stephenson officiating. Services are under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Pat was born September 22, 1932, in Mangum, Oklahoma to Joe and Audie Belle (Shelby) Snapp and passed away at home on Sunday, January 24, 2016, surrounded by her family. Pat was raised in the Hollis area and attended Ron School. She was an excellent basketball player, and her picture still graces the hall of the Hollis High School Gym. She graduated from Ron High School in 1950. On August 30, 1952, she married Billy Bradley Corning in Hollis, Oklahoma. Pat graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with her Bachelors degree. She taught school in Gould, Oklahoma and Abernathy, Texas. In 1977, she and Bill returned to Weatherford where she earned her Masters degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Pat taught at West Elementary School, loved teaching, and retired in 1994 after 35 years of dedication to children and the school system. Pat was a member of the First Baptist Church in Weatherford, OK. She had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh, and her smile could light up a room. She enjoyed painting, shopping, traveling, spending time on the lake, their home in Branson, and time with family and friends. Pats greatest joy in life was seeing her children happy and loving the Lord.

Pat is survived by her husband Bill of 63 years, their three children, Audie, Micci, and Chad, their families, 4 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and a brother in infancy.
