Funeral: 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 27th, 2013First Christian Church

Funeral services for Opal Marie Carman Taylor, 93 year-old Hydro, Oklahoma resident, will be held Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Christian Church in Hydro, Oklahoma with Rick Dyson officiating. Burial will follow in Hydro Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home.

Opal was born August 6, 1920 in Branson, Colorado to Ed and Bessie (Bahney) Carrier and passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Corn Heritage Village in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Opal was raised in Branson, Colorado until the age of 6 when the family settled east of Thomas, Oklahoma and she attended school in Jefferson Rural School. On October 1, 1939, she married Claude Carman in Weatherford and made their home in the Foss Lake area and later moved to Hydro. On April 6, 1989, Opal married C.R. Ike Taylor in Hydro where they made their home. Opal enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, fishing at Lake Texoma, quilting, and her church activities. Memorials may be made to the Christian Church of Hydro, Oklahoma.

Opal is survived by one son, Clifford Carman and wife, Linda of Hydro, Oklahoma; two daughters, Doris Jackson and husband, Keith of Tuttle, Oklahoma and Marilyn Blake and husband, Dan of Dallas, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Nola Sutherland of Weatherford, Oklahoma; step-son, Jerry Taylor and wife, Charlotte of Thomas, Oklahoma; two brothers, P.L. Carrier and wife, Bonnie Jean of Early, Texas and Lawrence Carrier and DeLois of Cushing, Oklahoma; one sister, Betty Thurman of Edmond, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; three brothers, Joe, Bud, and Herman; two sisters, Ethel and Ruby; and one son, Ron.
