Obituary

Nova Dean "Mickey" Brown was born on January 17, 1929 in Hinton, Oklahoma to "Sleepy" and Reba (Sledge) Cart and passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Maple Lawn Manor in Hydro, Oklahoma having reached the age of 93 years, 6 months and 14 days.

Mickey was raised south of Hinton, and attended Hinton Public Schools. On May 29, 1946, she married Frank Pitzer. They made their home north of Weatherford on the family farm, where they raised their sons, Jimmy and Jack. Mickey worked alongside her husband on the farm. She later operated a restaurant and was a cook at Southwestern State College. She later married Jack Brown on December 17, 1976 and they lived together in Weatherford. She worked on the film production line at 3M. Mickey enjoyed spending her time with family, cooking and canning vegetables, sewing, and gardening in her flower beds. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Youth Program.

Mickey was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Frank Pitzer and Jack Brown; two sisters, Juanita and Jo; one brother, Bobby; one grandson, Dale; and one great-great granddaughter, Peyton Goossen.

Mickey is survived by two sons, Jimmy Pitzer and his wife Katherine of Weatherford, OK, and Jack Pitzer and his wife Becky of Hydro, OK; one brother, Jerry Cart and his wife Flo of Baton Rouge, LA; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
