Obituary

Noble Grand was born on August 25, 1921 in Weatherford to Casper and Emma (Norman) Amen and rejoined his only bride Rachel in heaven Monday, November 30, 2020 in Weatherford having reached the age of 99 years, 3 months and 15 days.

Noble was a farmer from birth, happy to be by his father's side working the land his parents owned. He valued working and cultivating the soil and watching wheat come up. He scarcely had time to do more than his chores and go to school at the Rural Normal School south of Weatherford. Switching to town for school, Noble jumped on the bus and saw Miss Rachel Folks sitting in the seat and that was it, he found his bride. They courted as Noble received his call to service in World War II on August 13, 1942 with the promise upon his return they would marry. He married his "Sweetheart" on January 22, 1946 on the half-section of the home of Rachel's parents. They made their home on the farm loving the land and Noble working construction in the winters. With their three boys, they moved to town in the early 60's continuing to farm the land while living in Weatherford and making many memories with his "Honey" of 58 years.

Noble was a man of character who made many friends. He was a very hardworking farmer and a hardworking businessman; his handshake was his promise as his orneriness surpassed him. He loved Jesus, adored his Rachel, and gave of himself to his children and grandchildren. He loved Weatherford as he sat on many boards, a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Weatherford and his love of service above self being a Rotarian of fifty years, serving as Rotary President and receiving the Paul Harris Fellow.

Noble is survived by three sons, Rodney Amen and his wife Linda of Edmond, OK, Kelly Amen of Houston, TX, and Gary Amen and his wife Elizabeth of Weatherford, OK; four grandchildren, Brad Amen and his wife Aimee, Angie Watson and her husband Travis; Isabella and Lucia Amen, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rachel (Folks) Amen; two brothers, Audry and Ona; three sisters, Bertha, Pebble and Madge; and one grandson, Kevin.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Weatherford and to the Weatherford Food and Resource Center, P.O. Box 362, Weatherford, OK 73096
