Funeral services for Nettie Ruth Big Medicine, 59 year-old Thomas, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017, 2:00 P.M. at Freedom Worship Center in Thomas with Gerald Panana officiating. Burial will follow at Big Medicine Cemetery, southwest of Geary, Oklahoma under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford. A Wake service will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017, from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at the Indian Baptist Church in Weatherford with Gerald Watson officiating.

Nettie was born July 13, 1957, in Clinton, Oklahoma to Clyde and Nora (Roman Nose) Armstrong and passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, at home surrounded by her family. Nettie was raised and attended school in Thomas, graduating from Thomas High School in 1976. She worked in the Thomas area. On March 14, 1989, she married Hiram Big Medicine in Riverton, Wyoming and made their home there. In 1995, they moved to Oklahoma City before returning back to Thomas in 2002. Nettie enjoyed watching OSU sports, W.W.F. wrestling, playing pool, and spending time with family and friends.

Nettie is survived by her husband of 27 years, Hiram Big Medicine of their home in Thomas, Oklahoma; one son, Dante Pedro of Thomas, Oklahoma; two daughters, Christina Pedro of Watonga, Oklahoma and Angelica Berrios of Thomas, Oklahoma; two brothers, Antone Fletcher of Clinton, Oklahoma and Eddie Pedro of Thomas, Oklahoma; five sisters, Janice Beasley of Colony, Oklahoma, Mary Lee Curtis of Clinton, Oklahoma, Irene Ann Armstrong of Thomas, Oklahoma, Darla Ocenar of Clinton, Oklahoma, and Anna Hidrogo of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; twenty-seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Homer Lee Armstrong and Terry Joe Whitehorse.
