Nell was born October 13, 1921 near Weatherford, Oklahoma to Tom and Velma (Bond) Claunch and passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Inverness Village in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Nell was raised and attended school in Weatherford. She married Art Shotts on November 5, 1942. Nell was so proud of the old Weatherford Hospital and the Weatherford Golf Course, both facilities for which she contributed her time and effort in raising money for their construction. She lived in Weatherford until 2006 when she moved to Tulsa to be near her family. Nell continued to play bridge two or three times per week until her death and loved to reminisce about her playing train with her friends when living in Weatherford. Her loving spirit is ever present and continues to inspire us. May her love of her family and generosity always be with us.

Nell is survived by her son, Ron Shotts and wife, Pam of Tulsa, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Lolli Shotts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Sundi Goddard and husband, Dusty, Skylar McCormick and husband, Matt, Sarin Crump and husband, Brett all of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Collin Shotts and wife, Corie of Chicago, Illinois, Austin Shotts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and three great-grandchildren, Sarah Davis, Carys McCormick and Sam McCormick all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, Art Shotts; one son, Steve Shotts; seven sisters, Ollie VanDuyne, Mildred Harden, Opal Capps, Ruby Maddox, Dorothy Grinnell, Mae Claunch, and Bobbie Mayer; and two brothers, Wesley Claunch and Tommie Claunch.
