Nelda "Jo" Josephine Williams was born May 11, 1936, in Mounds, OK, to James Noel and Etta Lucille (Glenn) Harbeston and passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford, age the age of 87 years, 4 months and 15 days.

Jo was raised and attended school in Mounds, OK and attended the First Baptist Church.  She married and they lived in Oregon, Washington, California and settled in Oklahoma City where she worked for Lucent Technology for 32 years. Jo met the love of her life, Curtis Lay, in 1987, and they married January 1, 2009.  In 2005, they settled in Weatherford on the family farm.  Jo enjoyed making ceramics, candles and living the country life.

Jo is survived by her husband, Curtis Lay of their home in Weatherford; one son, Kevin Williams of Oklahoma City; two step-daughters, Kimberly Lay of Oklahoma City and Kristi Charron of Oklahoma City; one brother, Jim Harbeston and wife, Darla; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Steven Williams; and one sister, Jalin Lance.
