Nancy Carole (Fletcher) Switzer was born on March 16, 1946, in Sayre, Oklahoma to Virgil Eugene and Anna Mae (Jobe) Fletcher. She passed away on May 17, 2026, in Weatherford, Oklahoma at the age of 80.
Nancy was raised in a large family of 12 children and spent much of her childhood on her family's farm in Berlin, Oklahoma. The family later moved to Sayre, where she graduated with the Class of 1964. Following high school, Nancy moved to Oklahoma City and began working as a scrub technician at St. Anthony Hospital. While living in Oklahoma City, Nancy met her neighbor, Dwain Edward Switzer. The couple married on February 14, 1968, at Bethany Church of Christ, where they remained active members for many years. Together they built a life in Oklahoma City and welcomed their daughter, Monica.
In 1972, Nancy and Dwain founded Midwest Decals, a decal and screen-printing business they operated side by side for many years. In 1974, the family moved to a farm in Tribbey, where they raised cattle while continuing to commute to Oklahoma City to run their business. In 1990, they sold the farm and moved to Yukon, Oklahoma. After retiring in 1996, they relocated to Weatherford, where they continued farming and enjoying retirement together.
Nancy found great joy in serving others. One of her favorite activities was visiting nursing homes with her beloved Papillon therapy dogs. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren and was known for her generous spirit and support of numerous charities. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ferrell Fletcher; and her sisters, Frances Dodson and Faye Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Dwain Switzer, of the home in Weatherford; her daughter, Monica Suttles and husband Joey of Weaverville, North Carolina; and their children, Cassie, Seth, and Patrick.
She is also survived by eight siblings: Liz Usher; Larry Fletcher and wife, Mary; John Fletcher and wife, JoAnn; Arlene Lord and husband, Don; Kay Fletcher; James Fletcher and wife, Sue; Keith Fletcher; and Kathy Gibson and husband, Walter, and leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as her dear friend, Darla Nesmith.
The family would like to thank the staff of Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford for their loving and compassionate care.
