Myrtha Gayle Harris was born March 3, 1935, in Alfalfa, to Clifford and Rosella Pearl (Pickrell) Jones and passed away Monday, October 2, 2023, at Corn Heritage Village of Corn, at the age of 88 years, six months and 29 days.

Gayle was raised and attended school in Alfalfa, graduating in 1954.  She went to OCU in Oklahoma City and later transferred to SWOSU, earning her bachelor degree in 1961.  On July 6, 1957, Gayle married James Wayne Harris in Alfalfa and made their home in Wichita, KS.  They moved to Ganado, AZ where they lived for 18 years before moving to New River, AZ from 1979 to 1993, while teaching.  In 1993, she moved to Colony to be near family.  Gayle enjoyed birds, church activities and spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren.  Memorials may be made to Gideon's, Samaritan Purse or to Prison Fellowship.

Gayle is survived by her two daughters, Tori Gee and husband, James of Colony and Lisa Heffernon and husband, Kelly of Mesa, AZ; brother-in-law, Stacey Harris of Perry, OK; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Donald; and three sisters, LoLeta, Treva and Karen.
