Obituary

LaVonna June "Muggs" Dickerson was born December 26, 1931, in Cowden, Oklahoma to Carson and Otis (Treadaway) Morris and passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Corn Heritage Village of Weatherford, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years, 5 months, and 8 days.

Muggs was raised and attended school in Cowden and graduated from Cowden High School in 1949. She married Junior Dickerson on December 18, 1948, in Wheeler, Texas and made their home in Cowden. She worked alongside of Junior on the family farm. Muggs was a member of the Rebecca's Lodge and Cowden Live and Learn Club. She worked for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma where she taught GA Leaders. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and served her church in many capacities. Muggs enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling, knitting, and spending time with family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Sappington Chapel Cemetery.

Muggs is survived by her husband of 70 years, Junior of their home in Cowden, Oklahoma; one daughter, Daneille Schmidt and husband, Phil of Weatherford, Oklahoma; one son, Danny Dickerson and wife, Sandra of Edmond, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Angie Dickerson of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kristi Gabriel of Edmond, Oklahoma, Kayla Clark and husband, Coulter of Skiatook, Oklahoma and Kyra Schmidt of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and two great-grandsons, Gavin and Grant Gabriel of Edmond, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Helen and Imogene.
